I was never the type of person to…Day 26
I was never the type of person to…
-Be outgoing
-Love giving a presentation
-Feel comfortable with sales
-Ask a girl out on a whim
-Try something I might fail at
-Enjoy watching or listening to myself on video
…Until I was.
It started with a lot of calculated risk. Recording a selfie video for instagram 50 times before posting. The next time it was 40, then 30 and now I’m a one take wonder. All in part because I’m a hell of a lot better, but I also don’t care what people think anymore.
I changed my relationship with sales by focusing on sharing how I could help people and believing money was the exchange of value I was providing rather than a get rich quick scheme.
I got comfortable with failing by trying new things on a regular basis. Then it stopped being the “Fear of failure” and became an opportunity to learn.
But none of this happened overnight.
There as know magic aha moment or light switch that went off. I took one step, then a second, then another. Until I my identity shifted and I became the type of person who did those things.
Whatever you identify with now can change, and it SHOULD!
You can’t have your 50th without your first. So ask yourself who you want to become and then go do the smallest thing you can think of to take a step toward becoming that person!
