Readiness - Day 45

One of my buddies in Orlando used to love this quote: “You ain’t gotta get ready if you stay ready.” His college baseball coach used to say this regularly and clearly it stuck. In fact he had it as his instagram bio for a while. I love the idea behind it because it’s a reminder to show up everyday and be consistent. It’s not about the “right time”.

Which is funny because I used to live my life this way. Waiting for the right time and to feel ready. Sadly this led to a lot of inaction. Because I never felt ready or like things were good enough to implement or go after my dreams.

This all changed one day when I learned that readiness is not a feeling.

It’s never going to be the right time.

You’re never going to feel ready.

Because readiness is not a feeling, it’s a choice.
