Radical Candor - 30

There’s a book called Radical Candor, which I haven’t read, but I have listened to one third of a podcast with the author. So it’s not my idea, but I get the gist. And I love the concept. I also had to google the definition of “Candor” : the quality of being open and honest in expression; frankness.

If reminds me of how Brene Brown talks about vulnerability.

I think the biggest thing though is to say what you are thinking. Maybe not exactly, but if it’s on your mind it should come out.

If you have a question it needs to be asked.

If you wonder you need to find an answer.

It’s the “how” the makes all the difference. Sometimes it needs to be worked carefully and with tact.

But what’s best for all parties is that it’s done. And if you don’t do the asking or give the feedback then you are the problem.

I know this because I’ve been the problem…which always leads to a bigger mess in the end.

So if you have a thought or need something addressed, know that it must be done. And then find help if you need the right way to convey it.
