Work less, play more - Day 58

Some of the best advice I’ve ever received is that rowing harder doesn’t matter if you are headed in the wrong direction.

I used to live my life thinking that working harder was the answer.

They say hard work pays off so I kept grinding and grinding thinking that was the only way to get what I wanted.

It wasn’t until I was physically and mentally burned out that I realized this wasn’t working.

I literally worked myself into a sickness.

-Adrenal Fatigue

-Digestive Issues

-Hair Loss

Not only that, I was unhappy.

It took about a year to feel normal again → like myself. And after countless doctor visits and medical tests there seemed to be only one antidote:

Rest & Play.

I started spending more time relaxing, and doing things that filled my cup.

Ironically that’s when my business took off 🚀 . Taking time to play and rest allowed me to show up as the best version of myself which not only allowed me to be better at my job it attracted more clients to me!

So remember:

“The opposite of play is not work, it’s depression.

We should treat a lack of play the way we treat malnutrition.”

Working hard only is helpful if you are headed in the right direction and use the correct dosage.

Take my lesson so you don’t learn the hard way and take care of yourself before you take care of everyone else!

It’s better for you and the people around you!
